Enrolling your child at Tyabb Primary School
Tyabb Primary School looks forward to welcoming new students and their families to our school and school community in line with the Department of Education Placement Policy. This policy ensures that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.
Our school zone
Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones.
Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.
The Department provides guidance through the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.
You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under School zones.
Our school website is a snapshot of what is offered at our fabulous primary school but we also enjoy the privilege of showing our school to prospective new students and their families. School tours are available throughout the year, for new families to the area and Foundation (Preps) for the following year. If you are interested in a tour please ring the office on 5977 4584 for an appointment.
Foundation (Prep) enrolment information:
Please see the attached flier for tour dates. If you would like to book a tour for your child, please contact the school on 5977 4584 or by emailing the school at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, child’s name, child’s date of birth, kinder/childcare they are currently attending and contact details. Please include the subject heading as Prep Tours. We will then reply with confirmation of your tour date and time. Enrolment packs with forms and additional information will be available in term 2 and will be given out at the school tours.
Forms can be returned on completion with your child’s birth certificate and immunisation record. These documents are required for your enrolment to be accepted. Your child’s immunisation certificate can be accessed by contacting the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR) Child History Statement (CHS) and is accepted as a school entry certificate provided it states, “This child has received all vaccines required by 5 years of age”. Contact ACIR on 1800 653 809. Your child must turn 5 years old by the 30th April in the year they begin school.
We ask that enrolment forms be back by Thursday 24th June 2021.
We look forward to meeting you on a school tour.
