“I Sea, I Care”  School Ambassadors Program

The “I Sea, I Care” School Ambassadors Program provides leadership opportunities for four of Tyabb Primary School’s Grade 4 students.

The School Ambassadors Program is provided by the Dolphin Research Institute based on the shore of Western Port Bay at Hastings.

The School Ambassadors learn about the rich marine environment. They then pass on the message about the impact of catchments on the marine life to the school community.

Oliver’s Creek, which runs alongside Tyabb Primary School, feeds directly into Western Port Bay.

Two of the initiatives that Ambassadors have implemented to reduce Tyabb Primary School’s impact on Oliver’s Creek and the Western Port Bay marine environment is to promote “wrapper free lunches” and a “no bins” policy in the school ground.  This encourages the children to take responsibility for their own waste.
